Get Off My Lawn! novella
‘Get Off My Lawn,’ a gentle science fiction novella – a funny story of female friendship spanning generations. My novella is aimed at children aged 8 to 12.
Curriculum Topics
Intergenerational friendship – Features a retiree Olivia and her 7-year-old neighbour Dotty and the friendship bonds they form.
Introduction to genre – Deals with imaginative and futuristic concepts as Olivia uses technology to keep the young neighbours off her lawn.
Types of families – Includes a single-parent family and families where children are raised by others.
What’s included in the 35-minute session?
- Introduction to me and my story of becoming an author
- Chapter reading – I will read 2 chapters of the book
- Activity 1 – ‘Older or Younger’ – whiteboard activity where the students guess the relative ages of the characters
- Activity 2 – ‘Describe Olivia’ – students are invited to draw or describe Olivia
- 2 books donated for use in the school library

Cost per session* $120 (incl GST)
Author signed books will be available to purchase on the day at the cost of $12 each

Cupid’s Kiss novella
‘Cupid’s Kiss’ is a gentle science-fiction novella, a rom-com about a scientist who gets bitten by his own trained mosquitoes. This novella is aimed for young adult (15+) and adults.
